Catalytic Etherification Technology for Light Gasoline
KaiRui Environmental Protection’s light gasoline etherification technology involves reacting C5–C7 active olefins in catalytic gasoline with methanol to produce corresponding high-octane etherified gasoline components. This not only reduces the olefin content in gasoline but also converts low-value methanol into high-value-added gasoline products, thereby improving the company’s economic efficiency. It can convert low-value methanol equivalent to 8%–11% of the total mass of light gasoline into high-value gasoline components, while simultaneously increasing the octane number of catalytic gasoline by 0.6–1 units.
Process Technology Features:
1. High conversion rates: Utilizing proprietary catalytic distillation technology, the conversion rate of active C5 olefins is ≥95%, and that of active C6 olefins is ≥55%.
2. Excellent economic benefits: It converts low-value methanol—equivalent to 8%–11% of the total mass of light gasoline—into high-value gasoline components, thereby increasing the enterprise’s economic benefits. Taking a 400,000-metric-ton light gasoline etherification unit as an example, approximately 35,000 metric tons of methanol can be fed into the process annually. Assuming a price difference of 2,000 yuan between methanol and gasoline, this generates an additional 70 million yuan in annual economic benefits.
3. It can significantly reduce the olefin content in gasoline, lowering it by 15–20% in light gasoline while simultaneously improving the gasoline’s octane number.
4. The increase in octane number is substantial, raising the octane number of catalytic gasoline by approximately 0.6 to 1 unit.
