On August 6, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the 2010 plan for the formulation and revision of industry standards in the industrial sector. Among these, the chemical industry will focus on developing standards related to industrial restructuring and optimization and upgrading, the integration of informatization and industrialization, technological transformation, the industrialization of high and new technologies, product innovation and quality, energy conservation, emissions reduction, and comprehensive utilization, as well as workplace safety.
It is understood that the plan for the formulation and revision of standards includes 92 product-category standard projects for the petrochemical industry, such as high-temperature conversion catalysts for adipic acid and carbon monoxide. The standard for isobutylene etherification resin catalysts, for which our company serves as the primary drafting entity, has been included in the product-category standard project plan.
A relevant official from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that the principle guiding the formulation and revision of standards is to develop and revise standards for new technologies, new products, and new materials that have a significant impact on promoting industrial restructuring and optimization, based on the current situation facing industrial development and the needs of industrial growth. At the same time, industry standards will be formulated around industry management, product design, production, inspection, use, marketing, and other activities, as well as hot-button issues of concern to the industry and society, to ensure product quality, regulate market order, and protect consumer interests. The focus is on standard projects that help advance technological progress within the industry, guide industrial restructuring and optimization, facilitate market access, and regulate the market economy.
